Obituary for Frank Paul Barlow

Frank Paul Barlow
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather

Age 89, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2018 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Clara Barlow; sister, Alice (Hank) Wigchers; and brother, Raymond Barlow. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bernadette; brothers Robert Barlow and Elmer (Rosalie) Barlow, sister-in-law, Terryl Barlow; son, Michael Barlow; and daughter, Carol (Bruce) McClintick. He is also survived by grandchildren, Keri (John) Smiley; Shawn Barlow; Loni Boutin; David (Courtney Brown) McClintick; and Megan McClintick (Ben Taylor), 8 great-grandchildren, Allison; Michaela; Afton; Xavier; Sierra; Zacharias; Aiyana; and Leonard, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Elaina; Roman; and Aiden.

Frank served in the Army Air Force 440th Signal Battalion and helped in the reconstruction of occupied Japan. Upon return to the States, he worked as an engineer for Morris Rifkins & Sons meat packing plant and ended his career as chief station engineer at the St. Paul Civic Center.

Frank literally knew how to do everything mechanical and was happy to lend a helping hand to those that needed it. He was also his family’s version of Google maps as he could give directions to almost anywhere in St. Paul and the surrounding area. Cribbage was his favorite game and he strategized and outscored all of us. Frank was a devoted family man and loved nothing more than to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Monday Sept 10, 2018 at CONCORDIA LUTHERAN CHURCH 255 West Douglas St. South St. Paul. Family will greet friends and relatives from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Church. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery, South St. Paul.
